can you tell me if i am doing this right? i would start by fiding the two numbers that will add to -2 and mulitply to -15 which would be 3 and -5 then i just add on the b in the parenthesis?

yep. but after you got the no write the eq as a^2+3ab-5ab-15b^2

i thought i only had to do that when the first term has a leading coeff?
