a child flies a kite at the height of 300 feet and the wind carries the kite horizontally at a rate of 100 ft/second. How fast the child play out string when the kite is 500 feet from him? Please give me different ways to solve this problem?

L is length of string L = root(H^2 + X^2) dL/dt = 0.5 x 2XdX/dt x 1/ root(h^2 + X^2)
X is 400, as L is 500 and H is 300
400 x 100/500
