Graph the function y = 2 sin x. a. How many cycles occur in the graph? b. Find the period of the graph. c. Find the amplitude of the graph.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What is the bounds of the graph? That would determine all of those (except amplitude).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If you have an infinitely long graph, you'll have infinite cycles xP

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ahh, well the amplitude is 2. (You can read that straight off). Then there is only one cycle (or period) displayed. And the period is 2pi. Because that is how long it takes for it to complete a cycle xP

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No problem :P The two in front of the sin(x) only makes the graph taller. It doesn't effect where the zeros are (therefore not effecting the period).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ah.. You are a life saver!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Haha, thanks
