how show work pls?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

to convert fractions into a percent we use: (fraction) * 100 = (percent) we can adjust this to what the problem gives us 44.144 is the number that we recieve when we take 71.2 percent of something so using the equaion (fraction) x 100 = 71.2% so we divide both sides by 100 to get (fraction) = .712 Now a fraction is merely dividing two numbers but we dont know the full number (lets call this x) but we do know that 44.144 is part of the fraction so this gets us 44.144/x = .712 and solving for x gets us 62
