A rock dropped from a height of 50 meters. How long does it take the rock to hit the ground?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if g=10m/s^2 time=sqrt(10) sec

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[t=\sqrt{2h/g}\] so \[t=\sqrt{50*2/10}\] \[t=\sqrt{10} \sec\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it the right answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ask if u have any doubt..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i can confirm that. basic formula i would have started from would be \[h=1/2*g*t^2\] which is easily transformed into chutzpahs first equation ;)
