OpenStudy (anonymous):

does the following infinite geometric series diverge or converge? explain 3+9+27+81+...

OpenStudy (amistre64):

its geometric; and it seems to be just going to infinity

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wen the common ratio r, is -1<r<1 , sequence converges else it diverges...here the common ratio is 3 and hence it diverges...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so it diverges bc it has a sum or it dosent have a sum?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

any sequence will hav a sum,its just that it is finite or infinite. here, its sum tends to infinity...and hence u can't find it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

k thanks.
