Given, Y=20-5x Id like to confirm that the Y intercept be 20, the X intercept 0, and the slope -5. Anyone?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

almost! x-intercept means y=0 so 0=20-5x would give you x=4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ugg, dang it. Thanks. Let me see if I can graph this........

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this is a line - you need just 2 points. your intercepts would work great!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Did I mess up ithe slope too?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no. you was right. the slope is the number (value) in a front of x (you have to have just y on another side)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Considering Y is 0, that would only give me a point on the X axis. So there would still be a line?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it just a point. I can't draw here, but can you draw a coordinate plane on a peace of paper? define 2 points (you intercepts): (0,20) & (4,0)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh ok. I think I got it. I horrible with math, science(medicine) is something else...but math, horrible

OpenStudy (anonymous):

doing good! you are trying - thats matter! Let me know if there are more problems :) Good Luck!

Roger, thanks inik
