1. Multiply 5 and -4. 
2. Find two numbers that multiply to give you -20, but add to give you -8. 
   Ans: -10, 2 
3. Rewrite your polynomial: 5x^2 - 10x + 2x - 4 
4. Then group w two parentheses: (5x^2 - 10x) + (2x - 4) 
5.  Find the GCF for each parenthenses... 5x (x -2) + 2(x - 2)
6. Factor out (x-2) to geth (x-2)(5x + 2)

k. Factoring by grouping takes longer, but is most reliable. Eventually, u should push urself 2 do it w/o using grouping.
