find the fourth point, D, so that a parallelogram is formed using the vertices A(0,4) B(1,5) C(-2,5)

D(-3,4)

An easy way to solve this problem is to visualize the three points. A parallelogram by definition has two pairs of parallel sides, so you can find the slope of AB and apply it to C. So, the slope of AB is 1/1=1, so apply that to C. D would thus have to be (-2-1, 5-1)= (-3, 4). To check, note that BC has a slope of 0, and AD also has a slope of 0. The answer is (-3, 4).
