What's the best cross-platform (iPhone, Android) framework for trying to write an app once (in something like HTML5) that can be ported to both platforms?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

First of all, the design of your system must allow portability, those platformes, Android and iOS, are much different, if you want to make good apps, it may be better to write two separate codes, using the services provided by each platform, this way you'll get aligned to each systema and able to use the most of each. Second, HTML5 is a markup language, you can use it inside your app, but can't make the app out of it. You can write a great website as an app but this way you will not use any facilities provided by the operational system.

Use Flash Professional to build your apps. Build once and you can compile to both Android and IOS with only a few minor changes.

Flash apps dont run on iOS, unless they are Jailbreak'd. You will probably need to make the sabe app, twice to have full reability.
