Is the use of MIcrowave oven carcinogenous ?
Studies have looked at the possible link between microwave ovens and cancer. Some results suggest there may be a link but other studies haven’t been able to prove this at all. Microwaves do produce a magnetic field while they are in use. This drops sharply the further you are from the oven and doesn't last long, as you tend to cook in microwaves for very short periods. Most experts say that microwave ovens don’t give off enough energy to damage the genetic material (DNA) in cells so they can’t cause cancer. here's a resource about the use of microwaves in the US. http://www.fda.gov/ForConsumers/ConsumerUpdates/ucm048953.htm the FDA strictly regulates the amount of emissions from a microwave to a level that is well below the risk for public safety.
The use of a microwave oven is great if you're hungry and in a hurry. Most Americans are both.
Is the use of MIcrowave oven carcinogenous? Not unless you're inside it. Seriously, you are exposed to microwave radiation all day from various sources. Unless your microwave has a huge leakage problem, you get much more walking around every day. If you are very worried about this for some reason, use the rule of inverse squares: If you increase your distance from an energy source by a factor of X, you reduce your energy exposure to the inverse of the square of X. That is, if you increase your distance by a factor of 2, you reduce your exposure to 1/4th of the original exposure. If you increase your distance by a factor of 3, you get 1/9th of the original exposure. Move 4 times as far away, get 1/16th the dose. You get the idea.
yes, in excessive amounts, ie: sit in front of it while its on and cooking.
