Is it possible to have a function f defined on [ 3 , 5 ] and meets the given conditions? f is continuous on [ 3 , 5 ], takes on the values -3 and 3 but does not take on the value 0.

not possible assuming this means it takes on the values -3 and 3 on the interval [3,5]
that's what it means.
not if it is continuous, no. has to take on every value between -3 and 3. that was an easy one
is that simply because is says that it is continuous?
