Freddie the frog is at the bottom of a 30-foot well. Each day he jumps 3 feet, but then, during the night, he slides back down 2 feet. How many days will it take Freddie to get to the top and out?

So at the end of each day, he makes 1 foot of forward progress. However, he only needs to make it to 27 feet out because at that point when he jumps he'll be out. (and hopefully he won't slide back down) 
So after 27 days he'll be in a position to take the final leap to freedom on day 28.
