3x+2y=13 2x+5y=5

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

x = 5 y = -1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Multiply first eqn by 2 and second by 3 then subtract the resulting second one from the resulting first one. This will eliminate the x variable and you will get value of y now put this value of y in the given first eqn and get the value of x

i need a clear solution for my two equation..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

given eqns 3x + 2y = 13 ------------ (1) 2x + 5y = 5 ------------ (2) Multiply (1) by 2 and (2) by 3 to get 6x + 4y = 26 ----------- (3) 6x + 15y = 15 ----------- (4) Subtracting (3) from (4) we get 6x - 6x + 4y - 15y = 26-15 => -11y = 11 => y = 11/-11 = -1 so y = -1 Putting y = -1 in (1), we get 3x + 2(-1) = 13 => 3x -2 = 13 => 3x = 13 + 2 => x = 15/3 = x = 5 so x = 5 Final solution : x = 5 and y = -1

i saw it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what about my 2nd equation? \[3x-3y=2,,,x-3y=-2\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hey..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

here 3x - 3y = 2 ----- (1) x - 3y = -2 ----- (2) subtract (2) from (1) 3x-x -3y -(-3y) = 2-(-2) 2x - 3y + 3y = 2 + 2 2x = 4 x = 4/2 =2 so x =2 Putting x=2 in (1) 3(2) - 3y = 2 => 6 - 3y = 2 => - 3y = 2-6 => y = -4/-3 = 4/3
