D Native Americans mostly hunted and gathered. They are an example of a not advanced civilization and that's the reason the settlers were able to conquer them, they were not advanced or organized. The Indians did not have a large government that encompassed many tribes and they did have have advanced technology/tools. Since they did not have advanced tech, there was no need for specialized jobs while the settlers had doctors who went to medical school for a number of years and people who trained to be politicians.
