Why bicycle is not designed to move back by pedaling?
A bicycle stays upright while moving forward by being steered so as to keep its center of gravity over the wheels. The combined center of mass of a bicycle and its rider must lean into a turn to successfully navigate it. This lean is induced by a method known as countersteering, which can be performed by the rider turning the handlebars directly with the hands or indirectly by leaning the bicycle.
think of a blind man riding a bicycle............ Riding a bicycle needs visual co-ordination with good position sense and and management of of center of gravity(of the body -bicycle system), so that we will move forward with-out falling . It can be designed to pedal backwards, if a system is designed so that the person riding can see what is going on behind his eyes .
That's what feet are for. Use your feet to make a bicycle go backwards.
