The area, A, of a parallelogram is 64x 9y 6 square feet. The height, h, of the parallelogram is 16x 3y 2 feet. The area of a parallelogram can be found by using the formula A = bh. Which of the following best represents the length of this parallelogram’s base, b?
A 4x 6y 4 ft B 80x 12y 8 ft C 4x 3y 3 ft D 48x 6y 4 ft
here as we know A= bh putting the values of A and h we get: 64x9y6 = 16x3y2 * b so base is equal to : (64x9y6)/(16x3y2) = b (dividing both sides by 16x3y2) 4 * 3 * 3 = b 36 ft = b
36 ft isn't an answer choice
hey schulte pls confirm if the values are area = \[64x ^{9}y ^{6}\]
and height = \[16x ^{3} y ^{2}\]
yay! thats right
if yes, then the answer is that the length of the base = \[4x ^{6} y ^{4}\]
Thanks!
in future pls post this as 64x^9y^6 and 16x^3y^2 see how i have used the carat (found on the key for number 6) to show that 9 is power of x and 6 is power of y
yes it confused me also pls write the question correctly I TYPES MY ANSWER SO CORRECTLY BUT IT WAS NOT CORRECT JIUST BECAUSE OF WRNG USE OF POWER
