tips on writing a monologue for scout from the book To Kill A Mockingbird ? Please i am very desperate for an answer thank you .
Scout Finch is the main character and has the most depth of any in that book. There is a lot to choose from: Her fear of Boo Radley She is in love with that Dill kid next door. Her experiences in school Her relationshipw with her father and brother. How she hates that Aunt Alexandria, etc. Good luck!.
okay so I'm a little confused on how a monologue works, do i have to write her thoughts thru out the whole monologue ?
indeed u must write but depends on the scenario..it would be better to write a few...
Im sorry could you explain a little bit more ? like if i want to start it would i start by mentioning the theme and place, or should i jump in her thoughts right away ?
Dont ever try to directly into her thoughts...first u must start with some introduction like Jean Louise Finch clumsily walked in the inched heels and bright, preppy dress. Her stubborn tomboyish attitude never truly left; she still felt uncomfortable about girly clothing and the strict confinements of society's gender roles. But she did gain one thing over the course of many years, and that sole thing was maturity. Her manners and simplistic retrospect on life changed, and that changed was stimulated by a series of events, one of which includes the Tom Robinson trial.
okay so for example im writing the monologue about her when her dad put her to bed at the end of the book our teacher told us that we can make up new thoughts. So shes in her bed thinking about what happened that night so i would start it like this .. After dad put me to bed i couldn't sleep. . I can’t stop thinking about what happened today, I wonder how long Jem is going to be in bed for, I hope he doesn’t get mad at me for not showing him Boo Radley. Why did Boo Radley act so weird when he was with me ? I wonder if I’ll ever get to see him again. I can’t sleep .. I should check up on Jem. and so on, however when i get to the point when scout is talking to jem would i still have to write down what shes saying to him because a monologue should be her thoughts not what she says ..
yes u need not write what she says
so if i can't write what shes saying how could i explain their conversation ?
