set is group of same kind of objects kept together! always imagine that and try to work out.! its damn simple trust me.. you just need to get acquainted with those ridiculous signs.. only that makes them look ugly and tough.

set is a group of objects that share same qualities. for example, a set of high school students. So, the common quality is they are all high school students.

In mathematics, the definition is actually the same. However, you deal with numbers. like,
{2,4,6,8,10} you describe the set as: the set of even numbers. You just have to find the common quality all the members share.
