Solve 10^x=5.71

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[x=\log(5.71)\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what happen to the 10? How do you work it out?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[10^x=y\] same as \[y=\log_{10}(x)\] they say the same thing

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[10^3=1000\] \[\log(1000)=3\] etc

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so if you want x with \[10^x=y\] \[x=\log(y)\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh Ok i understand thank you
