because absolute value cannot be negative
Refering to the negative 2 inside the symbols, or the negative sign outside them?
the equation means that the absolute value on the LHS must equal the negative of absolute value on the RHS. but since absolute values cannot be negative, it is impossible for the LHS to be equal to RHS
(but you need to check for 0, as the absolute value of 0 is 0)

yes, andras, but the values of x that make the LHS and RHS 0 are different. so that cannot be a solution
