A train, traveling at a speed of 45km/hour leaves a station at 9 a.m. Another train leaves the same station at 60 km/hour at 12 pm, what is the distance from the station where the 2 trains meet
540 km
suppose they meet at distance D. this means that D = 45*(time for the first train) and D = 60(time for the second train) but time for second train is 3 hours less than time for first train so, 45t = 60(t-3) solve for t and find D
so the first train gets a 135 km head start and the other train catches it at 15 km an hour so in 9 hrs they have met
so 9 times 45 +135 head start
hey how would you stay sharp dhat
I guess this forum helps, cause there are all sorts of different questions. so if you are preparing for GRE or a general course which tests all your math skills, I guess this place is good. If you are looking for something specific, I suggest khanacademy
i have heard good things on there nice
yeah khanacademy is one of the best sites for testing your math skills imo
