Evaluate the expression for the given replacement values. Write the answer in simplest form. -11x;=-5/9

OpenStudy (anonymous):

X=5/99 aproximately .05

how? you need to divide the number which is multiplied to the variable when you take it to the other side of the "equals to" sign

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is there a way you can write it out never done these before

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay.. you need to do it like this.. think how you can make your x free from all the coefficients.. that is -11 in our case.. you can divide the expression -11x by -11 to make it only x which has coefficient equal to one. but since its an equation , you will have to divide it on both sides to maintain the equality.. this is again a rule of equations so u divide both sides by -11 and you get.. -11x X [1/(-11)]= (-5/9 ) X [1/(-11)] X represents multiplication sign. x is the variable whose value you have to find. dividing by -11 is same as multiplying by [1/(-11)] anything else,? ask me
