what is x when 3x+20=2x-10

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

-30

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Subtract 2x + 20 from both sides.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

first we need to arrange it - bring all x to one side and numbers to another. so we get: 3x-2x=-10-20 as you know, when we bring numbers and x to another side we change signs-that is why we got this expression now we just solve it: x=-30
