There was not a British revolution. There was an English Civil War which overthrew the monachy for about 15 years and the in 1687 there was 'The Glorious Revolution' which overthrew a second Stuart King (James II, a catholic) in favour of his protestant daughter Mary and her Dutch protestant husband William Prince of Orange.
