What was Italy's long-range goal in World War 2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Italy's goal was simple colonisation of land. Ethiopia was the starting point. Mussolini made alliances with Hitler's Germany and later Japan and as such was in effect signing on for war in Europe. However land gain was also a major goal here espcially in Albania and Greece. This however tuirned out to be a disaster for Italy and later in the war Mussolini was overthrown and the Italians joined the allies.
