A noun is a word used to name a person, animal, place, thing. Pronoun is the word used instead of noun. Like he, she, it, they A preposition links nouns, pronouns and phrases to other words in a sentence. Adjectives are words that describe or modify another person or thing in the sentence. Like red car, fat man. red n car r adjectives.

very modifies an adjective as in 'it is very hot." So very is an adverb,a word that modifies a part of speech other than a noun.
