A preposition and its object is called a prepositional phrase.

Prepositions are word like through, around, in, over,by, near of etc.

OpenStudy (rainbow):

...so the prepositional phrase would include the preposition word and the subsequent words that follow to complete the phrase. Examples are: through the woods, around the table, in the locker, over the wall, by the corner, near the chair, etc.
