What was it that the french missionaries objected about the fur trade???

OpenStudy (tad1):

French Brandy was usually traded for the furs. The missionaries didn't think that they could convert drunk people. so they argued against the fur trade. but the fur trade coalition in France argued that if they quit trading French Brandy, the people would trade for English rum.
