use the intercept to graph the equation x+2y=4

OpenStudy (bobbyleary):

To find both of the x-intercept and the y-intercept, you set x or y equal to zero. So, with x = 0, the equation becomes 0 + 2y = 4 or y = 2. And with y = 0, the equation becomes x = 4. If you plot y = 2, and x = 4 and draw a straight line through these points, that is the given function graphed.
