1.5 years?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't know,Please show your work

Suppose you have a 2.8GHz computer now. The computer you will get in N years is 5.6GHz right? so the computer you are be waiting for is twice as powerful as yours now. According to the information to the left side of you attachment. Every 3 years the speed of a computer is multiplied by a factor of 4. You only need to double the speed, so you need to wait only 1.5 years.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

N=1.5 years or 1 year and 6 months

Finally, analitically I got 1.5.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3 -> 4(2.6) x - > 2(2.6) solving for x, I got: x=3*2*2.6/4*2.6 x=3/2 x=1.5 time you have to wait for this computer is 1 year and 6 months. Now 100% sure :)
