Human beings(man/women) have a complex central nervous system, with a complex mechanism called LIMBIC system(Hippocampus and Amygdala) which manages the emotions such as laughter. When it comes to chemicals the main one is Endorphin produced from ventromedial prefrontal cortex(which control risking fear and dicision making). For humans laughter is a facial expression, there may be mechanisms for other organisms to express their feelings, like dog waving their tails on seeing their master.....Pheromones......etc.......Anyway the humans are compared superior because they are the most recent known product of evolution, most advanced and the most studied ones. .
