For which k ( k is real number), Quadratic form 2x^2+y^2+2xy+2yc+kx^2 can be compiled to Quadratic form xy-yz+xy?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but xy-yz+xy = 2xy - yz but this is not a quadratic form???? Pls recheck and send the question as it is not making sense, at least to me........

OpenStudy (gg):

it's xy-yz+xz thank u, I made typing mistake.

OpenStudy (gg):

and I made typing mystake in first quadratic form. it's 2x^2+y^2+2xy+2yz+kz^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok, i understand that but still what do you want us to do??? do you want us to find a value of k for which the given equation reduces to xy - yz + xz???

OpenStudy (gg):

I don't know, I suppose :D If I knew, I wouldn't give u to do this :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait, let me check on this.....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry friend...... i tried a few things BUT since i am not really able to understand the question, i am not making any headway. suggest u post this question again but make sure this time you type the values correct.. maybe someone familiar with these types of questions will b able to help...
