in order to find the slope and the y intercept of f(x) -5x - 6 do i need to substitute for x?

the slope is the number that is attached to the side of x; -5 in this case the y intercept is when the x part goes 0; and we are left with the -6

compare it with f(x)=mx+c where m = slope and c= y intercept
