soybean is 12% protein, cornmeal is 6% protien. How many pounds of each should be mixed together in order to get 240lb mixture that is 10% protein.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it 8lb of soy and 232lb of corn?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

M = Mixture % prot S1 = Soybean lb S2 = Soy % prot C1 = cornmeal lb C2 = cornmeal % prot M = (S1*S2 + C1 * C2) / (S1+C1)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

think about it roughly... 10% is closer to 12 % than 6% so you'll def need more soy now... if it was 50 / 50 - half of each it would be bang in the middle middle of 12 % and 6% is 8 %

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you'll need 75% of soy 25% of corn 180lb of soy and 60 of corn

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(160 * 12 + 80 * 6 )/ 240 sorry i mean 160lb soy and 80lb corn

make sense ?
