OpenStudy (moongazer):

When you are solving an inequalities when should you change the greater or less than sign is it when the x is negative? like -2x>1 should the answer be x<-1/2 ? or 2x>-1 is x<-1/2 i think the second one is wrong

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes u r correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if you multiply or divide by a negative number, the inequality symbol changes direction. If the question is -2x>1 then divide by -2 and get x<-1/2. If the question is 2x>-1, then divide by 2 and get x>-1/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

inequality reverses if we multiply with a negative no

OpenStudy (moongazer):

thanks!
