FACTORS AFFECTING Age - 40-60 are more prone Breast carcinoma syndromes-Li-Fraumeni syndome, Cowdens, Ataxia telengectasia. Chromosomal anomalies- BRCA-1, BRCA-2, Diet-(alcohol, food containing increased percentage of saturated fatty acids,) Vit-c has aprotective effect. Endocrinal causes-Longer period of exposure to Estrogen, Less period of cumulative lactation, More abortions, Oral contraceptive pills, Hormone replacement therapy. Female-Sex Geographyical regions- more common in White .Weatern women than in japanese/Taiwanese. THE preventable areas are DIET(less alcohol, less saturated fats)adding Vit C to diet. Estrogen exposure reduction. Early diagnosis and treatment.

some of the risk factors for breast cancer are : 1. advanced age 2. family history of breast cancer 3. brca1/brca2 in your genes 4. if you started your period early 5. if you had your first child at a late age 6. birth control pills 7. lifestyle factors such as alcohol, weight gain, or sedentary lifestyle screening is important for early detection. self-breast exams and clinical breast exams for patients age 20 and older is recommended. annual mammography for women beginning between age 40-49.
