Mrbonez321: Complete the statement: In a glide reflection, the direction of the ______ must be parallel to the line of reflection. translation rotation glide reflection reflection
TRANSLATION
but wait...
am i wrong?
holy eff.
i dont understand if it is translation... sorry to send a lot of pics
hmm, let me check around and see.
thanks!
p.s.-- i hate geometry with a passion.
so do i only a few more things and im out... then im off to algebra II
ah, algebra II was fun. have fun graphing a crapton though :)
great, something to look forward too.
In geometry, a glide reflection is a type of isometry of the Euclidean plane: the combination of a reflection in a line and a translation along that line. Reversing the order of combining gives the same result. Depending on context, we may consider a reflection a special case, where the translation vector is the zero vector. The combination of a reflection in a line and a translation in a perpendicular direction is a reflection in a parallel line. However, a glide reflection cannot be reduced like that. Thus the effect of a reflection combined with any translation is a glide reflection, with as special case just a reflection.
^it kinda makes sense....
ah, i was right!^
good job thanks!
:D
I just submitted it, im waiting for my teacher to grade the written responses but the question was correct! Thank You again.
