whats a negative plus a negative

negative
when you make a hole to a hole; you make the hole even bigger
^^^^ what
now im confused
You can think about it in terms of the number line. Adding a negative (just like subtracting a positive) moves you to the left on the number line. So if you start at a negative number and add another negative you will move further to the left (more negative).
And since you started with a negative, and moved more negatively, there is no chance you have anything except a negative number.
negitave
thanks
if \[a,b \epsilon \mathbb{R}\] and a,b < 0 then a+b = (-|a|)+ (-|b|) = (-1)(|a|+|b|) < 0
^ what does thaat hvae to do with negatives
A lot, but don't worry about it for now.

Yep. Number line is a good way to start thinking about positive and negative numbers.
