need assistance solve : √x+4+2=x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-> sqrt{x+4}=x-2 -> take square both side x+4=x^2 -4x +4 -> x^2-5x=0 -> x( x-5)=0 -> x= 0 and 5 now we check whether my outcome satisfy the equation or not;this checking is necessary because we have squared,so some extra value may come in my answer that needs to be removed (possibility of extra answer coming is because square of both -ve and +ve number are +ve) as here 0 doesn't satisfy hence answer is 5;
