Exponential & Logarithmic Functions: Simplify the expression. 3 log 3 (6x – 4)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is this \[3\log_3(6x-4)\]?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or is it \[3\log(3(6x-4))\]?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

which one? is the base 3?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if the base is 3 you can write this as \[\log_3((6x-4)^3)\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the fist one you mention with the lower case 3. (not sure how to make it lower case.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok in that case the answer i wrote above is correct.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ask your teacher why he or she thinks one is "simpler" than the other!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thanks.
