Why does the graph of tan x have positive and neg infinity between vertical asymptotes if the sin/cos answer is just neg or just positive?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

when x-> pi/2 then our sin is +ve but cos tends to 0+ so its +ve infinity and in case x->-pi/2 then cos is again 0+ but sin is -ve here so its -ve infinity

hello got it??
