It helps if the subject is interesting to you. I suppose one easy way to master the subject is to be a math nerd. For the rest of us it takes practice. It is important to be fluent in algebra, which is the language of mathematics. You should also have mastered trigonometry so that it will be easier for you to deal with trigonometric forms.

Here's another thing. You are most fortunate if you started on algebra by the time you were promoted to the seventh grade. If that's the case, then you have a good leg-up when it comes to the calculus. Probably the most important thing is to use your ability to reason things out for yourself.

Be truly curious and be willing to do the hard work, i.e., master algebra and precalculus. Also take good notes and ask questions. Go online and take calc lessons too.

I am studying precalculas now and everyone here is right. Practice is the only way you are going to score in this subject.Another thing i advise is remember your diffrensation and integration as that is also quite important.

the first calculus principal i learned was how to find the derivative of an equation using first principals.
