what should write wen we are asked for the pathophysiology of any disease??
The cause of the disease. The process(pathway) which leads to the development of the disease and leads to the outcome (or manifestation) of the disease process.
thank you soo much...shouldnt we talk abt the management and treatment of the disease..
no
you should include it's predisposing and modifiable factors and be specific on the disease process.
Pathophysiogy is strictly speaking the process of describing the physiological processes leading to a certain disease (pathology). This can be at many levels, but you will have to find out what is most relevant to your disciplin. For instance; Tetanis: if you're doing a biochem exam, you'll probably name the toxin released by c. tetani to cause Tetanus a and explain how the muscular tetany works on a molecular level. If you're in med school, naming the bacteria, where it thrives in its host, how long the incubation phase takes, what the toxin is and describing its effects on a patient will be more relevant.
