This will probably sound stupid..but i just need to know... i often see ppl askin about compilers....i know what compilers are...but in what ways are they different??and how does that help with the overall outcome??^_^

OpenStudy (amistre64):

if i recall correctly; a compiler translates the code that youve written into something the computer can understand. Different compilers are needed because different coding languages have different means of writing what it is you want it to do. Think of a compiler as a foreign language dictionary, its only as good as teh languages it can interpret from and to.

umm well i get THAT>>thanks<< but for a specifc language ..let's say C++ ...will there be a differnce in different compilers???

OpenStudy (amistre64):

ohh.... they all have their pros and cons id assume. the compiler itslef is just an interface, and some have good user interface methods and others , well ... dont :)

OpenStudy (amistre64):

what the diffs are at the moment, I havent a clue :)

lool ...thnx :)

Differences are among us in every aspect of our lives, if you really want to know some specifict differences and features, just choose the programming language you wish to use, and then do some research in what type of compilers or IE are there for such language, look for pros/cons in aspects like, price, performance, user interface, popularity, diocumentation, comunity support and etc, you choose. Just make sure you choose one you like, u feel confortable and have fun while using it to code :)

thnx a lot ..i'll look around then :D

I meant IDE (Integrated Deelopment Environment), not IE lol ok ?... :) and IDE, there bunches of them and they have more that just a compiler, the got trash collectors, intellisense and a lot of other usefull stuff for a programmer, al lintegrated in one place, depending of the platform you using to develop, language and machine

compiler helps in conversion from source code to an object code
