The body mass index, I, can be used to determine an individuals risk for heart disease. An index less than 25 indicates a low risk. The body mass index is given by the formula or model I=700w/h^2 where w=weight in pounds and H=Height in inches. Francis weighs 177 pounds and stands 73 inches tall. What is his BMI? Find an inequality describing all weights W that francis can have and be in the low risk category.

This is definately a challenge...please help!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Saifoo??? It is asking for a BMI and an inequality

OpenStudy (mathteacher1729):

Arrrrgh just typed up an explanation it was deleted. :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got the bmi. I need help with the inequality please.

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

23.25

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

its a low risk thing.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea I got that part already but the inequality should look like this:

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

w < 25

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea I tried that one and it was wrong:(

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

now i got that.

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

the answer is in the question itself!

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

w < 190.32

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it says type an inequality describing all weights W that Francis can have and be in the low risk catergory. I answered w<25 and it said wrong thats why I seeked help here

OpenStudy (anonymous):

maybe w<0?

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

it can b: 0< w <190.32

OpenStudy (anonymous):
