is any kind of time travel possible? to the past or futre, why or why not?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Time travel is very hard to explain but with the law of relativity it can be explain and there are other suggestions in the science community

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, there are several theories. This should be useful: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WyLrKFWjbRY Stephen Hawking talks extensively about time travel, and I found it very informative. One theory states that if we were to get really close to the speed of light, we would start travelling through time instead, because nothing can travel at or beyond the speed of light. Also, we can't travel to the past because it would bring about paradoxes such as the Grandfather Paradox, and nature (pr physics) intrinsically ensures that such things never happen. Watch the video, you'll find out more!

yes the theory in its own right.but there are other possibly and theories consigning time travel.Because time is relative

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The only time travel possible is the time it takes for you to travel from your birth to your death.

interesting theory 720

OpenStudy (anonymous):

While we are relatively free to move about in the spatial dimensions, we are severely restricted when it comes to motion in the temporal dimension(s). It appears to me that we are in the present moment, moving the same way the present moment moves, and there is no escape. Nor is there any need for one.

Other than that, there is the imagination, which serves as a vehicle for time travel, but the experiences we have in other times can be, at best, vicarious and are not actual, physical experiences. They are figments of the imagination.

I watched through the wormhole tv show. is says time travel isn't for today technology. I quote: is as far away for us, as is space travels for an amoeba.
