see the first digit on the right of the decimal point is the tenths digit the second digit on the right of the decimal point is the hundredths digit so when they ask you to round to the nearest tenths, you look at the next digit i.e. the hundredths digit (let us call it HD in short) so if\[HD \ge5\] you increase the tenths digit by one if \[HD <5\] then you leave the tenths digit as it was
