Pulmonary artery is the artery which carries de-oxygenated blood from heart to lungs for oxygenation. It begins in the Right ventricle and divides to supply both right and left lung.

artery = any vessel that carries blood away from the heart. Vein = any vessel that carries blood TO the heart Pulmonary artery is the artery which carries blood to the lungs. As lungs are the organs which oxygenate the blood, the blood in pulmonary artery is deoxygenated.
