Quadrilateral EFGH has coordinates E(a,2a) F(3a,a) G(2a,0) and H(0,0). Find the Midpoint of HG

OpenStudy (aroub):

do it by using the midpoint formula( do u know it?)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I really can't remember it frankly.

OpenStudy (aroub):

ok its (x1+x2/2),(y1+y2/2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

HG goes from (0,0) to (2a,0). This is a straight line on the x axis from the origin to a point 2a down the axis. It should be fairly easy to think of the midpoint without any fancy-pants formulas.

I have four choices for an answer. 1)(2a,0) 2) (a,0) 3) (a,a) 4) (a,2a). I'm going with answer choice 2 which is a,0. Would I be correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

of course you would be correct.
